How Does IV Therapy Work?

IV or intravenous therapy is a method for administering vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream. This form of therapy works quicker and offers more effective results than traditional oral alternatives. An IV drip or injectable is introduced into a suitable vein to provide fast-acting therapy for reducing or eliminating symptoms associated with a number of conditions and illnesses.
The fluid utilized in an IV Therapy is filled with a variety of vitamins and minerals designed to alleviate discomfort and help the body heal. The type of therapy you receive will be tailored to address the particular health and wellness concerns of the client.
If you feel sick, you need a little extra hydration, or you’re experiencing some brain fog after a big night of partying, an intravenous infusion of healthy nutrients can be just the thing to help you get back on track.

What to Expect During the IV Therapy Process

IV Therapy is intended to deliver faster results and relief in a shorter period of time than delivery methods through the body’s digestive system. The IV method allows for the body to absorb vitamins and nutrients much quicker, providing nearly immediate responses.

Although we offer many types of IV therapies, they are all administered in the same manner and every client can expect the following steps throughout the intravenous delivery process.

You will meet with one of our friendly staff to review your current symptoms so as to determine which IV therapy is best-suited to address your issue. We offer many IV treatments with various combinations of nutrients and medication options.

Once the right IV treatment has been determined, you will be seated in a comfortable position and a proper vein is found. The injection site is prepped and cleaned with some rubbing alcohol. In most instances the injection will be given in the arm, however, if a suitable vein can not be found in the arm another part of the body may be used instead.

The needle is prepped and inserted into the vein. The needle is connected to an IV bag filled with fluid containing the proper combination of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to address your specific needs. The IV drip is regulated by a pump that works to ensure that you are receiving the fluid at the proper delivery rate as it moves through the catheter and proceeds into the bloodstream.

You will need to remain seated and still during the IV treatment process to avoid damaging or disconnecting the catheter from the needle.

What Nutrients Are Given in an IV Drip?

The IV treatment you receive will be filled with a specific combination of vitamins and minerals to target the symptoms you are experiencing during your appointment. But many of the IV drips we offer will have similar ingredients. These may include one or more of the following:

Saline solution

This is a primary component of the fluid that is used to deliver the nutrients into your system and provides hydration support for the body.

Dextrose

This is also known as “sugar water”, it’s a form of sugar that helps to stabilize the blood sugar in the body and provides a healthy burst of energy to the system.

Vitamins B and C

Two of the most common and effective vitamins we need to support immune health, metabolism, and help to regulate proper bodily function for all the organs and systems of the body. Both Vitamins B and C are highly useful for warding off illness and promoting cell growth and maintenance.

Antioxidants

These are extremely beneficial for fighting off illness and disease by safeguarding your body at the cellular level.

Calcium

This mineral plays a vital role in promoting bone health and maintaining bone density, calcium is particularly important for older individuals as it can also prevent certain types of disease. An IV drip with calcium is well-suited for those who may be lactose intolerant and unable to get calcium from milk or other forms of lactose.

Medication

Some types of antibiotics can be administered through IV drip to treat a wide array of infection and disease.

Can You Benefit from IV Therapy?

There are many reasons why you might consider having an IV treatment. Our clients choose IV infusion therapy to address many health issues. IV infusion therapy is the quick and convenient way to get the vitamins and hydration you are missing in a direct method of delivery into the body.

Hangover and Nausea

Clients who are feeling the day after effects from a night of drinking or experiencing nausea due to motion sickness or dehydration can find fast relief from our hangover IV drip package. This IV therapy option delivers an effective combination of nutrients to alleviate the symptoms of hangover or nausea.

Health and Wellness Support

Poor diet or lack of sleep can prevent the body from receiving the nutrients necessary for good health and wellness. An IV therapy treatment can restore vitamins and minerals that aren’t absorbed from food and ward off fatigue and sickness.

Cold and Flu Treatment

Our immune systems work to keep us healthy but when cold and flu season overwhelms our support capabilities, an IV drip is a great alternative to help support immune function and minimize the symptoms that can make us feel run down and interrupt our daily routine.

Dehydration Treatment

When we’re dehydrated we can suffer from headaches, fatigue, body ache, and a lack of energy. IV hydration therapy is the fastest way to restore the electrolytes that can be lost in active lifestyles. A visit to the gym is a great way to stay in shape but if you don’t hydrate properly, it can leave you feeling less than 100%. IV treatment can bring you the hydration you need to keep you on task and healthy.
